After leaving the U.S. Virgin Islands, I boarded a seaplane to San Juan, Puerto Rico -a trip that would unexpectedly turn into two years of calling the island home.
I initially arrived to volunteer at a youth hostel, but Puerto Rico quickly became much more than a temporary stop. Over the next two years, I traveled throughout the island, exploring its cities, mountains, coastal towns, and more than 30 beaches. From well-known stretches of coastline to quieter places far from the usual tourist routes, I carried my camera with me as I experienced the island one journey at a time.
This collection is a photographic record of that chapter of my life- the landscapes, colors, coastlines, and everyday moments I encountered while exploring Puerto Rico and learning what it meant to truly live on the island rather than simply visit it.
